Mobile Phone Backup is a service that safeguards all data of your mobile phone including Contacts, Calendar, SMS, Photos, Videos and Music. The Mobile Phone Backup service copies your mobile phone’s data in a secure manner to Operators secure Mobile Phone Backup system, and also enables you to restore the saved data on your phone (New / Existing) whenever you change your phone or in case you lose the data accidentally.

How can I subscribe to the Mobile Phone Backup service if I do not have a GPRS capability Phone?
You can subscribe to the Mobile Phone Backup service by sending a SUB to 58989. You can unsubscribe by sending UNSUB to same 58989. You can send HELP to 58989 for more information.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD & ACTIVATE
1. Write “HELP” and send to 58989 (TOLL FREE) to know how to ACTIVATE phone back-up.
2. Go to setting for web browsing and select Access point as “bsnlwap”
3. Details of BSNLWAP setting: APN = bsnlwap ; Proxy = 10.220.67.131; Port= 8080
4. Use “BSNLWAP” as your default connection in your Handset.
5. Download the Application from the URL given in the SMS.
6. Install the Application
7. You will get one ICON of “Phone Backup” in Menu or My-own depending on set.
HOW TO BACKUP
1. Go to phone backup select backup, select the items (contacts, task, music, video, picture, SMS) to backup and press ok to take backup.
2. Once backup is done it can be viewed on www.pb.bsnl.onmobile.com/bsnlweb on the computer through internet by using username and password.
3. Customers can view/edit/add/delete the files of the phone on computer.
HOW TO RESTORE
1. Use Restore Button, select the item to be restored, then it would ask for password for security reasons, then press ok.
2. If customer has changed the handset and wants to get all the data on the new phone, he has to install the application once again on the new handset.
3. For re-installation of the application can be downloaded through the link by sending sms “HELP” to 58989.
4. Download the application through the link and a new icon would appear on your phone.
5. Use Restore Button, select the item to be restored, then it would ask for password for security reasons, then press ok.
SCHEDULE OPTION
1. You can schedule automatic backup daily/weekly/monthly/At any change/At every 3 change.
2. Once scheduling is set, it would take the backup automatically.
Tariff: Rs. 30.00/month auto renewal.
On every 27th day customer would get alert that his renewal would be done after 3 days automatically. So if the customer does not want to continue he/she can unsubscribe by sending sms “UNSUB” TO 58989.
TIPS:
1. If subscriber is receiving frequent calls, he/she should try application installation and backup during off peak hour’s i.e. in the late hours or can schedule the backup by using the “schedule option” in the phone backup menu.
2. On urgency, if application is to be downloaded and installed during peak hours when the customer will have lot of incoming calls the customer may forward the call to some other number so that downloading and installation runs smoothly not required for phones which has resume option.
Trouble-shooting
If customer is not able to take backup after several attempts kindly following are suggested:
1. Clear Cache & Cookies in web browser of the phone. This option is normally available at navigation or advanced option of the browser.
2. If customer is facing problem in taking contacts backup, customer needs to reset contacts in the settings option of address book on the website www.pb.onmobile.com/bsnlweb
3. Customer needs to reset history. This option is available on the summary tab, click the picture of the handset and he/she would get option to reset the history.
4. If the customer has forgotten the password, he has to go to the website www.pb.bsnl.onmobile.com/bsnlweb and click forgot your password option to get the password either on email or on sms option.
